The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
The 17 SDGs are integrated-they recognize that action in one area will affect outcomes in others, and that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability.

 

Main SDGs Addressed by ASKA Pharmaceutical Holdings

Based on the role ASKA Pharmaceutical Holdings should fulfill, we will work on the following nine priority goals from among the 17 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).

In order to realize our corporate philosophy: "Contribute toward the improvement of people's health and progress in society through the development of innovative products," we are committed to meeting niche medical needs with a focus on areas related to hormones (products, research, etc.), We are responding to niche medical needs with a focus on fields related to hormones (products, research, etc.).
We aim to achieve sustainable growth through research, manufacturing, and sales of ethical and veterinary pharmaceuticals, as well as research and contract hormone testing.

Aiming to protect the environment and continuously reduce the environmental impact of all our business activities, we are working to reduce energy consumption, promote waste reduction and reuse, and curb air and water pollution and emissions of chemical substances.

In order to maintain high quality and stable supply through research, manufacturing, and sales of ethical and veterinary pharmaceuticals, and research and contract hormone testing, we are continuously strengthening the quality assurance and safety monitoring systems at each of our group companies.

  • Ensure appropriate inventory by utilizing our own factories, contract manufacturers, and external warehouses
  • Operation of quality systems in pharmaceuticals (management review with management participation)
  • Steady implementation of risk management plans for ethical pharmaceuticals, etc.

In the field of livestock and fisheries, we are working to improve the productivity of livestock and fisheries products as a basis for food self-sufficiency in Japan through the sale of veterinary pharmaceuticals and feed additives under the theme of "reproduction, immunity and nutrition".
We support producers and veterinary professionals throughout Japan by providing high-purity, high-quality products using bioactive substances such as reproductive hormones and amino acids.

We are working to expand our drug discovery pipeline through research alliance activities and collaboration with academia and external organizations, and by promoting R&D activities through industry-government-academia partnerships.
We are developing better medicines and medical treatments to solve issues in healthy living (e.g., QOL improvement and prevention) through hormone-related substances that have their roots in our company's history.

  • Enhancement of Testing Technology and Drug Discovery Functions in Shonan iPark through Collaboration with Other Companies
  • Addition of pediatric dosage and indication for existing pharmaceuticals, etc.
  • Veterinary pharmaceuticals developed from ethical pharmaceuticals
