FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index
The FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index was created by FTSE Russell, a global index provider, which was rolled out on March 30, 2022, and is set up as a sector-neutral index that tracks the relative performance of Japanese companies exhibiting outstanding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance across each sector. In addition, the index only includes companies recognized for their improvement initiatives as assessed by their TPI (Transition Pathway Initiative) management quality score. This score weighting applies to companies with particularly high greenhouse gas emissions to further promote the transition to a low-carbon economy.
S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index
The index uses TOPIX, a representative stock price index that indicates trends in the Japanese market, as its universe, and determines the weighting of component stocks by focusing on the status of environmental information disclosure and the level of carbon efficiency (carbon emissions per unit of sales). By adopting rules such as increasing the weight of companies that fully disclose environmental information and companies with high carbon efficiency (low carbon emissions per net sales), the index aims to stimulate environmental initiatives and information disclosure in the market as a whole, thereby revitalizing the stock market.
CDP
CDP is a non-profit organization that operates the world’s only independent environmental disclosure system. It evaluates data reported by disclosing organizations using its proprietary methodology and assigns scores on an eight-level scale (A, A-, B, B-, C, C-, D, D-).
In CDP 2025, the Company received a score of “B” for Climate Change, “B-” for Water Security, and “C” for Forests. The “B” and “B-” scores indicate a Management level, meaning that the company understands its environmental risks and impacts and is taking action. The “C” score represents an Awareness level, indicating that the Company is comprehensively assessing the relationship between environmental issues and its business.
